Support Masjidul Ghurabaa

Masjidul Ghurabaa is a 100% non-profit organization funded by donations and sales.  We are not funded by any government, charity or organisation. Our viability is maintained by the will of Allah, the ever-Merciful, through the kind donations of our supporters (locally and nationally) and through the sales . Al Ghurabaa Monthly is Masjidul Ghurabaa’s dawah vehicle which strives hard to spread pure Islam to the Muslims and non-Muslims alike. We continue to broaden our da’wah activities consisting of a long list of Islamic Information projects.

A Small Pledge, A Great Benefit

Imagine a gateway towards clarifying Islam to the global audience that requires only a small amount of support. Tens of thousands of people each month could benefit from this effort, now is your opportunity to add your support:

“And whatsoever you spend of anything (in the cause of Allah), He will replace it. He is the Best of those who grants sustenance.” [Qur’an, Saba‘ 34:39]

The Prophet Muhammad (sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said, “Whoever calls to guidance will have a reward similar to the reward of the one who follows him, without the reward of either of them being lessened at all.” [Related by Muslim (8/61)]
“And those who give that (their charity) which they give (and also do other good deeds) with their hearts full of fear (whether their alms and charities, etc., have been accepted or not), because they are sure to return to their Lord (for reckoning).” [Qur’an, Mu‘minoon 23:60]

Your Wealth Will Never Decrease!
Al-Baqarah – 2:261 The likeness of those who spend their wealth in the Way of Allâh, is as the likeness of a grain (of corn); it grows seven ears, and each ear has a hundred grains. Allâh gives manifold increase to whom He pleases. And Allâh is All-Sufficient for His creatures’ needs, All-Knower. (Al-Baqarah 2:261)

About the Masjid

We are a group of Muslims in Laurel, Maryland following the Qur’aan and the Sunnah, upon the understanding of the Salaf-us-Saalih (the Pious Predecessors). They (the Pious Predecessors) are the Companions of the Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), the Taabi’een and the Atba Taabi’een. As the Prophet (Sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said in an authentic hadeeth:”The best of mankind is my generation (the Companions), then those who come after them (the Taabi’een), then those who come after them (Atba Taabi’een).”  Reported by Bukhaari and Muslim.

Our aim is to call the people to the correct Islam, which is the Qur’aan and the Sunnah, pure and free from any additions, deletions and alterations; just as those first three generations of Muslims understood and implemented it. And to connect the people to the Major Scholars and their students, based upon thestatement of the Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), “Indeed, the Scholars are the inheritors of the Prophets. They do not leave behind Dinaar or Dirham; but rather they leave behind knowledge. Whoever acquires it, has indeed acquired an abundant portion (of the inheritance).”
(Reported by Imaam Ahmad and authenticated by Shaykh al-Albaani in Jaami’ As-Saheeh)

We have established weekly classes in the evenings in which people have been benefiting from for many years. Over the years we have been studying important books of ‘Aqeedah (creed), which the scholars have recommended every Muslim to study. We have studied “Qawlul Mufeed fee adillahit-Tawheed” (Beneficial Sayings regarding the evidences of Tawheed) authored by The Noble Scholar of Yemen, Shaykh Muhammad Ibn ‘Abdil Wahhaab al-Wasaabi (Hafidhahullaah).
We have also studied “Al-Mulakkhasul-Fiqhee” (The Summary of Fiqh) authored by Shaikh Saalih Fawzaan Ibn Abdullah Al-Fawzaan (Rahimahullaah). We have also been studying “Explanation of Luma’tul I’tiqaad ” (Sufficiency in Creed) which is authored by Shaikh Muhammad Bin Saalih Al-Uthaimeen Rahimahul-lah.  All Praise is due to Allaah.
We are currently studying “Fundamentals & Benefits of Imaam Nawawi” rahimahulah’s 40 Hadeeth By Naazim Muhammad Sultaan.

What is Ghurabaa?

The Prophet and Messenger of Allah (alayhi salatul wasalam) has told us in an authentic hadith, “Islam began as something strange, and it will return as something strange, so give glad tiding to the strangers (ghurabaa).” (Collected by Muslim)

In another narration it was said,“O Messenger of of Allah, who are the ghurabaa?”  He (alayhi salatul wasalam) replied “those who are steadfast in righteousness at a time when the people become corrupt.”  (At-Tahahwee in Al-Mushkil (298-1)

In another version he (alayhi salatul wasalam) said, those who correct what the people have corrupted of my sunnah.”  (At-Tirmidhee (2765) at-Tabaranee in al-Kabeer (16/17) al-Bazzar (3287) and others.)

Shaykh Abdul-Aziz ibn Abdillah ibn Baz (rahimallah) said, “If one becomes alienated and is shunned, then he should work harder in his Dawah.”

This condition is the confirmation of what our Prophet and Messenger (alayhi salatul wasalam) has told us in this authentic hadith about the strangers amongst this Ummah.  So this noble hadtih make it clear to the people of intellect that calling to the truth and refuting that which the people have introduced into the religion at a time when Islam is strange is regarded to be from the reformation which the Prophet (alayhi salatal wasalam) encouraged and praised it people for.  This great hadith also makes clear to the readers, that it is obligatory upon the people of truth when Islam has become strange to become more active in explaining the rulings of Islam, giving dawah and spreading it’s merits and virtues, and fighting against the vices.  It is also necessary for them to be firm upon that until they become one of the righteous people at a time when corruption is prevelant, and they become one of those correct the mischief when the people are active in it.  Indeed Allah is the Granter of sucess, Exalted be He.
